Paint That Doesn't Crack and Peel

Q. My newly painted cabinets look great but the hinges just don't look good. I can't afford to replace them, but they are taking away from the updated cabinets is there a paint that will not crack and peel that I can paint the existing hinges with?
A. I would suggest using any of the new Canvas Home Basics Diamondhard Furniture, Cabinet and Trim Paint. It has a tough durable acrylic finish and dries leaving a smooth gloss finish. No priming is needed and the paint is rust inhibiting and scrubbable. For best results, paint the hinges (or any metal surface) with several light coats and let the paint cure for seven days. We like to use a sponge brush and almost drop the paint onto the hinges. This paint with it's Diamondhard Technology is self leveling so it will smooth out, preventing any "goop" from getting in the grooves of your hinge. With adequate dry time, the hinge will look and work like new-adding a new look for minimal cost to your cabinets! |
Picture 1: Furniture, Cabinet and Trim paint is great for hinges and the leveling property allows them to open and close in their normal capacity. | | Picture 2: Even inexpensive knobs look great with a fresh coat of paint. |
