Unlike the flat finish of Canvas’ Interior Matte Wall Paint, the Furniture, Cabinet & Trim Paint features a beautiful gloss finish that is durable, levels beautifully and finishes like a piece of beautiful furniture. It is available in the seven Canvas Naturals™ paint colors and also in three additional rich colors.

This is especially critical in remodels and homes that have a combination of elements from today and those from the past. The thought process began with switch plate covers – there are very few color options and a multitude of wall colors. After hours spent choosing the right wall and trim color, consumers must then settle for switch plate covers that don't match, or bring metal or ceramic covers into their design. Canvas searched for a solution that would allow the perfect canvas of color to continue from the walls onto switch plate covers, ventilation grills, radiators, etc. Diamondhard™ technology was discovered and with it the capability of painting much more than ever imagined, including wood, metal, plastic, cork, pvc pipe, glass and more.
Diamondhard™ Furniture, Cabinet and Trim Paint is the perfect solution for built-in cabinets and furniture pieces that live in a room. The “no priming and no sanding” property allows consumers to update living spaces quickly and easily. After an all surface cleaning, cabinets are ready to go. Simply remove hardware and paint over finished wood or painted cabinets. The paint levels beautifully, leaving a professional looking finish. Cabinets may be finished with new hardware or current hardware may be painted in the same great paint. Drying time on various finishes and surfaces may vary. For best results, 7 days of curing time before heavy handling of the finished surfaces is recommended.
The color palette for Diamondhard™ Furniture, Cabinet and Trim Paint expands to ten pre-mixed colors, allowing more versatility in creating the perfect canvas. Along with the seven Canvas Naturals™ colors, Diamondhard Furniture, Cabinet and Trim Paint is offered in Black, Felt and Tweed. All are deep colors that bring out the richness of the color palette. The paint may be tinted as well to secure a custom color or for use in faux paint projects. Each color was specially formulated to match with its companion matte finish wall color. This formula is factory mixed, with each batch run to ensure color accuracy and match to the matte finish wall paint every time.
It's leveling properties allow it to cover items such as switch plate covers with a gloss finish that looks professionally done. This is dramatically different than painting switch plate covers with standard wall paint or other paint with a less than high gloss finish, the brush strokes tend to show, the paint chips off easily and the finished look it just that a painted switch plate cover.
It will cover hinges and moving parts very well without sticking and chipping, we were very impressed with this quality.
Screws were painted before being screwed back into place and after. The paint held up in both instances very well, unlike most paint.
The handle before and after picture shows two colors teamed up together - the handle a shade darker and what a great look and contrast, but a HUGE difference from the outdated wood and old handle.
Handles that appear so outdated are instantly updated.
The number of coats really depends on the product and the look that you are going for. Keep in mind that allowing the item to dry 5-7 days is ideal for great finish.
Diamondhard™ Furniture, Cabinet and Trim Paint, as its name states, is also the perfect trim and detail paint. It has a gloss finish and great leveling properties. Trim now has a very durable finish that will either match perfectly or contrast nicely depending on the design choice.
